SUPER RUGBY, ROUND 6, APRIL 1st,2023 FIJIAN DRUA v MELBOURNE REBELS

Large stadium seats Rugby Union

HFC BANK STADIUM, SUVA

Drua-Rebels is a flip of a coin. The Rebels are playing well enough to beat them anywhere in the world bar Suva, and that’s a bit of a problem when the game is indeed in Suva. Home team gets the significant benefit of the doubt.

The Drua are chasing back-to-back wins for the first time in their history, after upsetting the Crusaders 25-24 at home. The Rebel’s stocks are on the rise, thanks to an impressive performance against the Queensland Reds in round 5. The hosts have lost their last seven consecutive matches against Australian opposition, while the Rebels have won once in their last 12 outings away from home. Both sides have struggled for consistency over the first five rounds of the competition, but the Rebels have shown the ability to grind out wins in the clutch moments. The visitors have enough class through the starting XV to turn around their away form.

PREDICTION.

With the game played in Suva I have to back the home side. The heat will be a factor as the Crusaders found out recently.

The Fijian mob to win but not by much, maybe 2.5 points
