RUGBY UNION. THE GAME WATCHED IN HELL

Rugby Union

Yesterday I decided to watch South Africa v Australia. Well, silly me.

This code has got a serious problem with the rules if they are trying to promote the game of union. I should stress I do not support either side, only the game of union.

Well, I used to anyway. Not any more. I only watched the first half. It was terrible to watch.

Why, I hear you ask.

The first half only consists of 40 minutes. In that time the ball was in play for less than twenty minutes. There were 14 penalties. At one stage an Australian player was sent to the sin bin for ten minutes. It took 1minute 40 seconds before play continued, so ten minutes on the sideline is a waste of time. Another time the Aussie halfback got a hand on his face, barely a touch.

Referee said it was head contact and the South African halfback gets 10 minutes in the bin. My grandmother hits harder than that. What a farce.

And then at around the 20 minute mark, players take a water break. We don’t need more breaks .We pay money to be entertained. This is not entertaining. This game is rubbish.

With so much competition from other codes why would anyone go and watch this rubbish.

Well, I didn’t. I switched over to the league. Ah now, that is entertainment.

Shot clocks for scrums, Shot clocks for line drop outs. Ball in play. speed, excitement, quick decisions, less input from blind touch judges, less stupid technical decisions that even players can not understand, me neither. So to the rule makers,

MAY I SUGGEST YOU THROW THE RULE BOOK IN THE GARBAGE AND REWRITE THE RULES.I will not be watching again.
