After watching this weekends games it is noticeable how much faster the games were. I have complained for a long time about time wasting in rugby union, and finally the law makers have woken up. The ref’s need to continue to make players hurry up, but this weekend was a good start. There were a few forward passes missed ,so the assistant ref’s need to be on their toe’s also. With the new laws the games are much faster, so I think there will be some blow out scores as fatigue and fitness sets in. Some teams will have to adapt their game plans as well.
There were some huge tackles also and none better than, Moana Pacifica v Fijian Dura game. With several games played in Fiji this year and some in Samoa, the players better get ready for the heat, and the big hits. Love it. Both of these teams will upset the more fancied teams along the way.
