Kobe Hetherington takes the place of Thomas Flegler (concussion) on the bench, with Corey Jensen to start at prop. Kobe is a fiery sort of player and likes the physical side of the game. This is his first start for the season after playing in Reserve grade.
This is a huge Queensland game as these teams are neighbours and both need to win. The Broncos suffered their first lose last weekend to Canberra and the Titans snuck home late against the Dragons keeping their home record secure for now.
PREDICTION.
Going to have faith in the Broncos to return to the winners circle here. Despite last week’s loss, they still looked dangerous and some cooler heads close to the line would have seen them prevail. The ground at Suncorp Stadium looks very soft and I think the firmer ground will suit the speed of Walsh and Cobbo.
Two of the more explosive young fullbacks we’ve seen in recent history come toe-to-toe this week, in the form of Queenslanders Jayden Campbell and Reece Walsh. The Titans have struggled to find a spot for Jayden this season, but his ability since coming into first grade in 2021 is undoubtable. His speed around the ruck could provide the Titans with the perfect attacking option when the Broncos’ middles begin to fatigue.
On the other side of the park is the man touted to keep Campbell out of an Origin jersey for his whole career. Reece Walsh has been an electric addition to the Broncos this season. The attention he demands from defensive lines allows time and space for Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam to work with and succeed with. He’s every chance of putting on a real show this weekend.
I will stick with the Broncos, even though they lost last week ,with a little patience they can edge this one. Brisbane minus 7.5 points @ $1.63. Titans plus 13.5 points start @ $1.69 also looks tasty.
