NRL ROUND 4,FRIDAY, MARCH 24TH,2023 REDCLIFF DOLPHINS v BRISBANE BRONCOS

Rugby League

SUNCORP STADIUM,BRISBANE.

Dolphins team:

 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Euan Aitken 4. Brenko Lee 5. Tesi Niu 6. Isaiya Katoa 7. Sean O’Sullivan 8. Jesse Bromwich 9. Kodi Nikorima 10. Kenny Bromwich 11. Felise Kaufusi 12. Connelly Lemuelu 13. Tom Gilbert 14. Jarrod Wallace 15. Mark Nicholls 16. Ray Stone 17. Mason Teague 18. Poasa Faamausili 19. Kurt Donoghoe 20. JJ Collins 21. Anthony Milford 22. Robert Jennings.

Following Felise Kaufusi’s four-match suspension being handed down, the Dolphins will have some shuffling to do. Kenny Bromwich will likely shift back to his native edge position, with Mark Nicholls or Jarrod Wallace into the starting team. There is also some doubt over the elbow of Katoa, but I think they will start him. He is young, but exciting. The Dolphins will miss Kaufusi after his suspension which I think was the wrong decision by the officials by a country mile. The charge should have been down graded and Kaufusi fined. The decision makers should be embarrassed. AGAIN.

Should Katoa be ruled out, Anthony Milford is in line to face his old club after being dropped by Wayne Bennett due to a lack of fitness.

Bennett’s handling of Milford could have been part of a plan to have the former $1 million playmaker primed to face the club that let him go.

“He’s playing his old club, told he wasn’t fit enough, he wasn’t part of the team and his culture wasn’t good enough. He’s given him three weeks now to rest and to train and take on the old foe, where he would want to be ready to stand up and deliver.

Broncos team:

1. Reece Walsh 2. Jesse Arthars 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Selwyn Cobbo 6. Ezra Mam 7. Adam Reynolds 8. Thomas Flegler 9. Billy Walters 10. Payne Haas 11. Kurt Capewell 12. Jordan Riki 13. Patrick Carrigan 14. Cory Paix 15. Keenan Palasia 16. Corey Jensen 17. Martin Taupau 18. Deine Mariner 19. Brendan Piakura 20. Kobe Hetherington 21. Jock Madden 22. Xavier Willison

Kobe Hetherington could be a late inclusion, returning from a biceps injury. Either way it is going to be a sold out Suncorp Stadium for the Battle of Brisbane. The Dolphins are in their first year in the NRL, and Brisbane are the big dog in town. Both coaches ,Wayne Bennett and Kevin Walters have won five premierships together as players and coaches, and they will go head to head.

PREDICTION.

As much as I love the Dolphins, I think the Broncos will have too much speed and class all over the paddock. Very experienced side with Adam Reynolds pulling the strings and Reece Walsh exploding from the back. If you are betting you have to use your head not your heart, so for me Broncos minus 8.5 points @ $1.78 or Dolphins plus 13.5 points @$1.69
