NRL, ROUND 7, APRIL 14th, 2023, MANLY SEA EAGLES v MELBOURNE STORM

Rugby League

4 PINES PARK,MANLY, SYDNEY.

Sea Eagles team:

1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Jason Saab 3. Brad Parker 4. Morgan Harper 5. Ray Tuaimalo-Vaega 6. Cooper Johns 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Taniela Paseka 9. Lachlan Croker 10. Jake Trbojevic 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Kelma Tuilagi 13. Josh Aloiai 14. Kaeo Weekes 15. Ethan Bullemor 16. Aaron Woods 17. Toafofoa Sipley 18. Sean Keppie 19. Samuela Fainu 20. Ben Condon 21. Gordon Chan Kum Tong 22. Josh Schuster

Josh Schuster has been named in the reserves and is a chance of returning from a quad injury. But for now, coach Anthony Seibold has gone with the experience of Cooper Johns over young gun Kaeo Weekeswho is back on the bench. There’s several other big changes for Manly with Reuben Garrick side lined due to concussion protocols. Rookie winger Ray Vaega has been named in his place. Aaron Woods has been named to make his club debut off the bench in place of Karl Lawton, who suffered a shoulder injury last week. I watched Aaron play last week in the NSW Cup and I did not think he added much. Personally he is way past his best. But remarkably, superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic has been named despite struggling with back spasms against the Panthers. Tom looked bad in the hiding from the Panthers and if he is not playing, Manly have no show.

Storm team:

1. Cameron Munster 2. William Warbrick 3. Reimis Smith 4. Justin Olam 5. Xavier Coates 6. Jonah Pezet 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Tui Kamikamica 9. Harry Grant 10. Christian Welch 11. Trent Loiero 12. Eliesa Katoa 13. Josh King 14. Bronson Garlick 15. Alec MacDonald 16. Tom Eisenhuth 17. Tariq Sims 18. Grant Anderson 19. Aaron Pene 20. Tyran Wishart 21. Sualauvi Faalogo 22. Jack Howarth

Handy fullback Nick Meaney will sit out this week due to delayed concussion symptoms following a head knock last Thursday. Superstar five-eighth Cameron Munster has been named at No.1 with rookie playmaker Jonah Pezet replacing him in the halves.

The Storm have won five of the last six games at 4 Pines Stadium. Melbourne smashed the Roosters in Round 6 and the same could happen here .They have really found form after a slow start to the season.
